I view the world through a wide-angle lens. It is done with the understanding that my comprehension is limited in a vast world of information and experiences. I embrace the unknown because my vantage point can be compromised from time to time. Most subjects I see are generally dressed and packaged in a facade but the lens has a way of stripping away the layers to reveal what lies beneath. But sometimes the image calls for the facade to remain, so I let it. I also enjoy capturing the nocturnal energy that drives the metropolis we've initialed NYC. I am social and a socialite, connecting with interesting people who my camera has found to make even more interesting subjects.

These days photos are heavily processed to their limits, making  them look like a digitized image rather than a photograph. Photographers have strayed away from the simplicity of photography since the digital camera’s birth in 1975. Today digital image technology has changed the industry standards from movies to photography by having the capability of making everything you see extremely sharp and life like. In spite of these capabilities, I feel that due to it’s rapid advancements, the technology is beginning to cause a disconnect from what we see. The connection between observer and artist is sometimes forgotten, for example movies aren’t as memorable, music not as heartfelt, and photographs are flat instead of being textured.

Many of us are part of a culture that “self employ” while freelancing our days in the nearest cafe/coffee shop. Brooklyn is the DIY (Do it Yourself) capital of NYC. The boro houses thousands of freelance writers, photographers, artist, singers, financial consultants, journalists, graffic and fashion designers. Coffee Shop table tops are covered with laptops Monday through Friday so I decided to pick one and photograph two freelancers, Whitney Summer and Shireen Bora doing a popup meating at Urban Vintage located on Grand ave and Clifton in BK.
